A Skylit Drive: "Identity On Fire"

Hope you all had a nice St. Pattys day, i know i did. I come from an extremely Irish family so i celebrate. But i don't have the accent though. I also had a great B-day party in case any of you were wondering. Anyways, let's get down to FREGGEN' business. A Skylit Drive, one of my favorite post-hardcore bands EVA'! Their new album "Identity On Fire" was released on the 15th of February. Little over a month ago now. Lead singer Michael "Jag" Jagmin's vocals are powerful and great as usual. My favorite song of the album is probably "Too Little, Too Late."

I also like "The Cali Buds." And the synthy ending to "If you lived here, you'd be home" is pretty, um, seductive? Can i say that? lmao. Alright, i'll say it's a beautiful fade-out.

If you guys are fans, definitely check them out. This album has a little more punk side to it aside from their past albums. alright yo, see ya later! ;)

Jordan Blake Is Back!

For those Jordan Blake fans out there; (Ex-A Skylit Drive, Ex-Razing Alexandria, [currently in] Watchout! Theres Ghosts, & Trances) He has worked with Entiene Sin who has a very well-known post-hardcore/screamo band in New York, they have collaborated to make a 5 song EP which will be released in March on itunes. One of the song's is called; "It's Jordan Blake B••••!" It's starts out all crunk/hip-hoppy with autotune. it's kinda funny. then it all stops and you hear: "GO!" and this sick hardcore song begins. I love the outro how the guitar fades out. it plays the sickest thing ever! you can find the video on youtube. it's pretty entertaining actually.

PEACE!

Beauty And The Beast

How many of you are fans of "Beauty And The Beast" bands? Well, let me explain to you what they are;

Beauty and the Beast is a musical band term for how the bands vocals are set up.
Usually a post-hardcore related band, a screamer [usually male] in the band obviously does growls, screams, shouts, roars, and hardcore stuff to give it a metal hardcore edge. that person is known to as "The Beast." And, a clean vocalist, who sings the clean vocals with fairly high voice and it sounds pure, beautiful and great and gives it an amazing part to the song. This person is known as "The Beauty." Now, just cuz a band is post-hardcore/nu-metal and has a clean vocalist and screamer, doesn't mean that they can be classified as a "Beauty and Beast" band. The band must have dual [two] vocals, which means to different people, the percentage of screams and clean singing must BE or very close to 50%-to-50%, and the beast is usually a male, and the beauty is usually a female. now, there are some exceptions and i did say USUALLY.
Some examples of Beauty and the Beast bands are;

Eyes Set To Kill
IWrestledABearOnce
A Skylit Drive
Of Mice & Men
Isles & Glaciers
This Romantic Tragedy
In This Moment

Check these bands out! And see ya! ;)

Motionless In White Shout-Out!!!

Motionless In White is a Post-Hardcore/Grindcore/Punk/Alternative/Electronica band that consists of 6 very shady band members. A Lead singer, 2 guitar players, a bass player, drummer, and a keyboards/synths player. Their most popular and recent EP "When Love Met Destruction" has some very unique songs with very disturbing lyrics. And if you are fans of; A Day To Remember, The Devil Wears Prada, We Came As Romans, A Girl A Gun A Ghost, HIM, I Set My Friends On Fire, In Fear And Faith, Isles & Glaciers, Iwrestledabearonce, Of Mice & Men, A Skylit Drive, Slipknot, The Word Alive, and Bring Me The Horizon, then you'll like this band.

Their top songs are; To Keep From Getting Burned, Ghost In The Mirror, The Seventh Circle, and, Whatever You Do Don't Push The Big Red Button. I know there are a lot of bands out there with weird song names and they are about some creepy unusual death/dying/decaying disgusting stuff, -- but this band takes the Gold. For example; Some lyrics from "...The Big Red Button" are; "This will be, our little, sweet 666. Be still my love for we cannot be scene." and, "I bet I f***ed more dead girls than you." Also, from "Ghost In The Mirror"; "Can your heart still brake if it's already stopped beating." and "Never take your pulse for granted again." and "Everyday is a funeral, and I'm not afraid of being alone." and some lyrics from "...From Getting Burned"; "Everything that you ever loved will be taken away the moment you shut your eyes."

...and etc... -- Okay, I think i made my point. Now, I am NOT trashing the band in any way. I am just telling you their style and what they sing about. I personally like them, not because of the lyrics, but only because of the actual music. The way they strum their guitars, stop for a sec, and then hammer it quick and repeat strumming. Also, because of the clean vocals singer. I personally like bands they have a very Punk/Post-Hardcore/Heavy Metal/Alternative music sound except the vocals are singing only and they are kind of on a more emotional higher pitched level. Kind of like the band "Broadway." They have that hardcore/punk sound but there is LITTLE screaming and the clean vocals are great. Anyways, yeah, that's what I like about them.

Okay, check em out! ;)
